На минувшем Чемпионате мира по водным видам спорта, который проходил с 14 по 30 июля в городе Будапеште (Венгрия), выпускник кафедры ТиМ плавания НГУ им. П.Ф.Лесгафта, Санкт-Петербург, Заслуженный мастер спорта Александр Попков в составе сборной России завоевал бронзовую медаль Чемпионата по плаванию в комбинированной мужской эстафете 4х100.
